Studio hours are held by appointment only. Holistic facial treatments are available:

Monday through Friday: 10am to 9pm

Saturdays: 10am to 3pm

I know it's unusual to hold business hours by appointment these days, but there are two important reasons why I do this:

1. It allows me to keep a wider gap of availability for y'all. I have a lot of clients that need to come in for evening appointments because of their busy schedules, but I also have quite a few clients that prefer the mid-mornings or afternoons.

2. I'm not just a holistic esthetician - I'm also a professional makeup artist! I do freelance makeup applications for film and photography and I'm a bridal artist for Blossom Beauty. As such, I often need to block my schedule for last-minute production calls or wedding parties. I've absolutely adored expressing my creativity through makeup since childhood and keeping studio hours by appointment only is the easiest option for me to continue this work while making time for my skincare clients.

Blackwood Beauty is a facial studio located inside of Cove Collective in historic Downtown Rogers, Arkansas. Our address is:

You can find us across the street from Honeycomb Kitchen and Fresh Harvest and directly next door to Black Moth Tattoo (in between 2nd and 3rd street). Look for the big blue doors under the black & white striped awning! There is free street parking available in front of the building and a free municipal lot with accessible parking adjacent to the building.

As a Bentonville native who grew up finding solace & belonging on the streets of Downtown Rogers and the goose gatherings of Lake Atalanta, I am so stupidly honored and excited to officially be a part of the historic district community in my adulthood. It's a full circle moment, if you will, and I'm simply reeling.

At Blackwood Beauty, we're never married to one brand. Holistic esthetics is all about creating custom treatments that target the client's specific skin type, concerns, and conditions while taking a full health history and lifestyle habits into consideration and no single brand is going to offer full spectrum solutions.

Instead, Sierra is focused on hand selecting specific products to stock her skincare apothecary based on extensive research on ingredient profiles and consideration for ethical, sustainable, and cruelty-free manufacturing processes. Somatic practices are those that emphasize the mind-body connection and work to release tension stored in the body from highly emotional experiences, traumas, and energetic blockages through various means of physical awareness. Somatic practitioners and specialists exist to bring people back into their bodies when life's paths have necessitated dissociation from the body for survival. Some are intense and require the help of a healthcare professional (think EMDR therapy); others offer a gentler approach (like dancing or singing), but all are trauma-informed.

Sierra, being a survivor of SA and DV herself, has gone through extensive training to ensure Blackwood Beauty is a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed space. Each facial utilizes seemingly unnoticeable survivor-first details like intentional, gentle movements to alert clients where to expect touch - avoiding protective reflexes (flinching) and activation of the sympathetic nervous system.

Somatic facials don't follow a specific protocol; rather, intuitive touch is utilized to release tension from pain points and areas of stored emotional stress. They are designed to find the things you've been unconsciously clinging on to in the face, scalp, neck, and shoulders and releasing those physical manifestations with slow, methodical movements.

Each somatic facial includes a double cleanse to remove dirt and debris, custom plant-powered facial masks and botanical hydrosols to support skin health and restore your natural glow, lasting hydration and moisturization with organic facial oils and balms, and essential sun protection. Unlike the signature facial treatments, somatic facials offer 30-60 additional minutes for focused facial massage modalities that melt stress, relieve tension, and restore balance to the skin and the soul.

Cove Collective is Northwest Arkansas's premiere one-stop-shop for all things holistic health and wellness. Owned by Jess & Chelsea of Pillar Pilates, the Cove is a community space that houses a variety of small businesses focused on providing you whole-body health.

The main lobby boasts a retail space and a serene seating area bordered by plants that thrive in the natural light cast from the floor to ceiling windows of the storefront. Sit and sip on a cup of tea while you wait for your appointment or shop around for self-care and wellness essentials.

There are 6 studio rooms located within the collective - each one housing its own holistic health specialist (see the full list below). Our goal is to make whole-body health journey accessible by placing all of your practitioners in the same spot. Services at Cove Collective include:

We do not offer waxing services. Although it's one of Sierra's favorite things to do and she's killer at a brazilian, this studio was intentionally designed to be a space for stress relief and nervous system regulation. A coochie wax is not conducive to that kind of vibe and the amount of energy clearing necessary to transition from that kind of service to a somatic facial seems like a whirlwind.

Additionally, we do not offer facial waxing. If you're interested in facial or body waxing in Northwest Arkansas, though, we couldn't recommend Smooth Studios highly enough! Not only are the vibes immaculate in both their Rogers and Fayetteville locations, they use hypo-allergenic products that are safe for sensitive skin and their highly trained estheticians are a stone cold pack of baddies.

Uhm, 100% yes. Bartering is one my favorite parts about being an independent esthetician (aka solo esthi) and I believe it is a vital tool for practicing mutual aid and supporting other small businesses in the area! It also makes me feel like a my favorite kind of character build in Skyrim and that brings so much joy to my heart.

Here's the low down:

I take trades on a case-by-case basis, never continuous. Continuous trades can get messy and - let's be real, y'all - none of us service providers have a consistent enough schedule to keep up with that.

Trade amounts are based off each business's menu price. If there's is a price difference in our traded services/products, we'll pay the remainder at the time of the service/trade (see example below).

I limit myself to two trades per month. Sometimes those trades are reserved for my ridiculously fantastic photographer bestie, Kassy Gross (check her work out here). Her gorgeously aesthetic work helps me manage the woes of social media marketing and regularly updating this website. That being said, it can sometimes take awhile before we can get you on the books for a trade facial. It's typically a little easier to do so if you're down with being a model (and I will absolutely do the same for you).

Example Scenario

Eleanor is offering vocal lessons that I would love to book and her price is $100 for the hour. Eleanor is down to trade and wants to book a Stellar Reset which is priced at $120. We book Eleanor for the Stellar Reset on her desired date and time and after the facial is over, Eleanor pays the remaining $20. Before Eleanor checks out, I get on her calendar for my $100 hour-long vocal lesson.

How to Request a Trade Service

1. Fill out this barter request form and let me know what services you're interested in, what you could trade for them, and what days of the week typically work best for you to receive services.

2. You will receive an email from info@blackwoodbeautynwa.com confirming that your request has been received after I've reviewed your entry

3. If our barter needs/wants are in alignment, I'll reach out to you via text to see if you're available that month for a trade

4. If you're serendipitously available that month, I'll offer a few dates and times where I could fit you in and email you Barter Agreement Form that we'll both sign and date

5. I'll book your appointment and you get pampered!

6. If you're trading for a physical item, just bring that item with you to your appointment

7. If you're trading for a service, I'll book my service with you at the end of your appointment
